“தென்பரை முதல் வெண்மணி வரை” (Thenparai Muthal Venmani Varai) அப்பணசாமி எழுதிய தஞ்சை மாவட்ட தலித் விவசாயத் தொழிலாளர் போராட்டங்களின் வாய்மொழி வரலாற்று நூல். 1940களில் தொடங்கி கீழத் தஞ்சைப் பகுதிகளில் பல ஆண்டுகள் நடைபெற்ற நிலம், உழைப்பு, சாதி ஆதிக்கம் மற்றும் சமூக உரிமைக்கான போராட்டங்களை நேரடி பேட்டிகள் வழியாக இந்நூல் பதிவு செய்கிறது. தென்பரையில் செங்கொடி இயக்கம் உருவான காலத்திலிருந்து வெண்மணி வரையிலான போராட்ட அனுபவங்கள், மூத்த போராளிகளின் நினைவுகள், கிராமப்புற வாழ்க்கைச் சூழல்கள், நாட்டுப்புறப் பாடல்கள் மற்றும் போராட்ட வரலாற்றுச் சம்பவங்கள் இதில் இடம்பெற்றுள்ளன. மறைந்து போகக்கூடிய வாய்மொழி நினைவுகளைப் பதிவு செய்து அடுத்த தலைமுறைக்கு வரலாற்றுச் சாட்சியமாக வழங்கும் முயற்சியாக இந்நூல் அமைகிறது. 2004ஆம் ஆண்டு முதற்பதிப்பாக வெளிவந்த இந்நூலின் நான்காவது அச்சு செப்டம்பர் 2026ல் வெளியாகியுள்ளது.

Thenparai Muthal Venmani Varai (தென்பரை முதல் வெண்மணி வரை) by Appanasamy documents the oral history of Dalit agricultural labourers’ struggles in the Thanjavur region. Drawing on interviews with senior activists and participants, the book records memories of struggles over land, labour, social inequality and caste-based oppression across villages of lower Thanjavur. Beginning with the emergence of the Red Flag movement at Thenparai and extending to Venmani, the narrative preserves first-hand experiences that might otherwise disappear with generations. The book also brings together accounts of village life, political mobilisation, sacrifices, grassroots leadership and folk songs connected with these struggles. It offers readers an important oral-history perspective on a major period of social and agrarian movements in Tamil Nadu. First published in 2004, the fourth print was released in September 2026.
